Die Gismonti-CD ist klasse! Ich habe sie neu, wusste nicht, was mich da erwartet, aber ich finde sie hervorragend. Und die mit Don Cherry steigt auch in meiner Gunst. Wird Zeit (nach dem Wire-Primer neulich, den ich inwzischen auch endlich gelesen habe), mal wieder etwas Cherry zu hören!
Jetzt das Album mit Paul Bley … die altvertraute zweite Sternstunde. Zum Auftakt Ornette und auch da wird rasch klar, dass Motian das durchaus kann – aber für das Trio mit Cherry war Blackwell gewiss die bessere Wahl. Motian spielt allerdings hier wie auch auf den Sets mit Allen und Rubalcaba hervorragend.
