Die „I Fought the Law“-Version der Dead Kennedys hat einen (fast) komplett anderen Text. Dieser behandelt den Doppelmord an Harvey Milk und George Moscone aus der Sicht ihres Mörders, dem Ex-Polizisten Dan White, dessen Anwälte argumentierten, sein Umstieg von gesundem Essen auf Twinkies sei Mitauslöser für die Tat gewesen. Mit nur sieben Jahren Gefängnis, von denen er nur fünf Jahr absaß, kam White in dem Verfahren für einen Doppelmord mehr als gut weg.
