Faszinierend! Im Allmusic-Review heisst es: „Belgium’s Ricercar Consort has a long record of Bach performances that transcend national styles; it has something of the dramatic Italian approach, the lush sound from Francophone lands, and well-drilled German clarity.“ Das kann ich sofort nachvollziehen, und es gefällt mir ausserordentlich gut! Die Stimmen sind allesamt nur einmal besetzt, was zu einer grossen Transparenz führt. Der „Chor“ besteht also aus den vier gemeinsam singenden Solisten. Diese sind: Katharine Fuge (Sopran), Carlos Mena (Countertenor), Hans Jörg Mammel (Tenor), Stephan MacLeod (Bass). Am begleitenden Ricercar Consort unter der Leitung des Gambenspielers Philippe Pierlot hatte ich neulich ja schon bei Telemann Gefallen gefunden. Die anderen Bach-CDs sind bestellt …
