Bid schrieb im Monochrome Set Forum bezüglich einer Platinum Coils Vinyl-Ausgabe:

I know that there probably (but not definitely) are a few people, maybe 100+, who would buy vinyl, even if it was expensive.

But, to us, this has always been a non-essential thing- less essential than t-shirts, for example, even if it’s very desirable for some.

I don’t really like to talk about money in public, but I think I have no choice, as this issue keeps coming up. We’re not a company, and we don’t turn over huge amounts of money. We do get reasonable concert fees, but we don’t play concerts all the time.

So, we only have a limited amount of available money to do things. For example, I am currently working on a Japanese tour, and IF it happens, we will have to stump up the airfares ourselves- £3000. It may not go ahead, but we do need to keep „spare money“ aside at all times for things like that.

Uh…I’ve got a cold, will be back later to carry on…!…

…urgh…where was I?

Yes…most of the time, I find that the bands with the nicest looking merch are the small ones…so many reasons.

Actually, there are many things to explain, but I really shouldn’t, as these are the Mysteries of Showbiz.

Suffice to say that I have to make judgements all the time about what we can/should do or not, and I know that sometimes I have been or will be wrong- but I don’t think, at present, I’m wrong about vinyl…

That’s like a father saying, „no, you can’t have a Ferrari“… :D
