„i tried few times (and i usually try only once) to convince Mike Johnston to put together all this but i understand why: Faruq’s passing was kind of a shock and bewildering event for Northwoods, especially after so many years together… but we FINALLY made the long overdue retrospective of one of the most amazing and totally underated group of improvisers of the last 20 years. until now, only a one-sided LP (released by Qbico few years ago) exist in vinyl format of Northwoods… this 4 LP box set collect some previously unissued material recorded from 1997 to 2011 and two sessions previously available on CD by Entropy (both rec. in 1998/99). there’s some music (not much nowadays unfortunatly), the more special & rare one, which trascent the notion of time/space and goes beyond… music which’d had been enjoyed by the Pharaohs, by present day hipsters and by future budum… this kind of music is called: TIMELESS. period“ ep
