Aus dem aktuellen Mojo:
Title: What We Saw from the Cheap Seats
Due: May 2012
Producer: Mike Elizondo
Songs: tbc
The Buzz: „We are very visual today,“ says Spektor. „It’s almost like people don’t know how to listen anymore.“ To reverse the trend, she describes her sixth studio LP a cumulative sonic crescendo using brass, woodwind and mellotrons. „They are sketches but complete in themselves,“ she says of the songs. „There’s a thin line where you take something that’s implied and make it real. You can lose something when you flesh that out – so you have to walk right up to that line. I go over it all the time, which is good to do – it lets you know where are wrongs and rights.“ It’s all she wished the previous Far (2009) was, from the „experience of working with more people to learning how to open my songs.“
