Die drei Stücke mit Nicky Hill machen in der Tat grossen Spass, und wie redbeans im oben zitierten Post angemerkt hat, ist Hill eine dieser legendären Randfiguren des Jazz. Seine Alt-Soli auf den drei Stücken sind in der Tat sehr toll, sein Ton sehr lebendig und wie redbeans es oben formulierte, mit einem gewissen Mut zur Hässlichkeit. Auch Joe Diorio ist hervorragend. Joe Segal prophezeit ihm in seinen Liner Notes eine grosse Zukuft, dazu kam es jedoch leider nicht… der Markt für Jazz dieser Machart brach bald weg und Diorio bleibt bis heute ein Geheimtipp. Er hat übrigens auch an der berühmten Eddie Harris-Aufnahme von „Exodus“ (Vee Jay) mitgewirkt.
