Rhino is re-issuing the first four classic Ramones albums on 12″ vinyl, as originally released in the US by Sire Records with original artwork and original printed bags, on 180gm LPs cut from analogue masters.

Not just one of the best albums to come out of the initial New York punk explosion of the mid-’70s but one of the greatest rock and roll albums ever, ranked at number 33 on Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Released only months after their eponymous debut, their second album contains many all-time Ramones anthems, including Commando, Pinhead and Gimme Gimme Shock Treatment.

The only Ramones album to go through different incarnations on its original release, due to label controversy over the song Carbona Not Glue. When Sire Records switched distributors to Warner Bros. Records, this track was replaced by Sheena Is a Punk Rocker.

Hmm, wäre interessant zu wissen, ob die B-Seiten-Tracks die tatsächlichen Versionen (ich glaube aus einer Aufnahme im Roxy) der Original-Single sind oder ob sie den Fehler der „All The Stuff And More (Vol. 1)“ wiederbegangen und einfach die „It’s Alive“-Versionen genommen haben.
