pipe-bowlNope, ich habe hier eine Ausgabe ohne Linernotes von Graham himself! Erzähl mal!
Ein Totalverriss der Platte, u.a.:
„In my view I did not come up with the goods for „Heat Treatment“, or at least not enough of them. And nobody else did either. The stodgy production, the harmony guitars a la Thin Lizzy, the overly fussy arrangements and at least three of the songs conspire to make this album one of my weaker efforts … es folgt eine längere Beschimpfung von John Mutt Lange und dessen „Joe Cocker-Fantasien“ bei der Produktion des Albums … And some of the songs were definitely my fault … Talking about bluffing, what the heck is „Black Honey“ about anyway? It’s a perfect example of how to take an excellent melodic idea and butcher it with lyrics about nothing disguised as lyrics about something, is what. I can see right through the uninspired „Just Something You’re Going Through“ too. I had bits of that old dog way back in my hippie days … I gave it a half-arsed reggae beat and called it a song, hoping no one would notice. Apparently, no one did! „Heat Treatment“ is still unaccountably a highly respected album by fans and critics alike and at the time of its release it fooled everyone … Have I put you off? No I have not. Perception being stronger than reality, you are not going to change your mind … Oh well, apart from a few clunkers, I rectified things somewhat with my third album „Stick To Me“, if only by default.“
