‘I’m a bird with friends in high places, spiritually at least. I’m Phoebe Killdeer and here’s a bit about the band.’
Cedric ‚Fuzzy‘ Le Roux (guitar) is a lover of people, has a cunning resemblance to Phil Lynott of Thin Lizzy, will go to any length to get his hair the way he likes it, can sit in the lotus position backwards, can never find a shirt that fits him properly, a connoisseur of Rock’n’Roll from ’56 to ’58, can’t breathe without his leather, is addicted to very small sweets you can only find in southern Mexico, called Rezzos, and seems to run into random objects quite a bit.
Alexandre ‚King‘ Maillard (bass) has no recollection of who he is when waking up from a wild night. This usually needs a couple of hours to recount all his eventful life time doings, although we are getting better and have managed to squeeze it down to a mild twenty minutes if we are not ourselves suffering from the heavy pounding sound in the head. We picked him up hitchhiking in southern Spain. When we asked him his name, he said he didn’t know, so we named him King, Alexandre ‚King‘ Maillard. Romance always weighing on his side, he leans on adventure with all his weight and more often than not falls flat on his bass. He plays heavy, gritty and meaningfully.
Raphael Seguinier was born on a farm, lost in the countryside, near a village populated mostly by his family. Raphael had time to linger around and dwell in the thoughts of one day becoming an astronaut. But one afternoon he stumbled upon an abandoned drum kit in a vacated neighbouring shed and things took a drastic turn. Since that day he has studied the extensive art of drum playing and has dedicated his time to define the style we now know as the Raph style. Would partake in time travel if was given a chance. Obsessed with tattoos but afraid of needles.
Phoebe Killdeer (lead vocalist), Paris-born Australian, first gained attention when she lent her voice for the group Nouvelle Vague. She was featured as a vocalist on several tracks on the Album “Bande à Part”, and toured widely with the group. Before covering songs with Nouvelle Vague or working with the Short Straws, she offered up her singing skills to several prominent artists, including Zero dB and Basement Jaxx. But anyway, as band we have finally found the artery via which we can get rid of the music that burns in our hearts and lungs.
