MacClausAuszüge… von Jemanden, der die Remaster bereits gehört hat:
„Make no mistake, listening to The Beatles‘ remastered catalogue is not a dispassionate experience. It is an overwhelming one. When it’s over…..my reactions are a mixture of emotional, incredulous and ecstatic.
Ridiculous amounts of hidden detail have emerged in the remastering.
The key word is clarity. Not loudness. Clarity. The voices and instruments are crystal clear, pure, human, natural.
The techniques of mastering have been controversial in recent years, with accusations (and proof, indeed) that music is being brick-walled; compressed to headache-inducing levels in order to give albums an ersatz loudness…..Remastered by a small team of Abbey Road engineers over a four-year period, the CD’s have not been brick-walled or over-compressed (unlike the 2000 compilation, 1, which sounds unpleasantly ‚glassy‘ in comparison), and nor do they even sound particularly loud.
The two that have been restored to the point of miraculousness and beyond, The Beatles and Abbey Road, are the ones I’d recommend firs to people on limited budgets.“
Freut mich, wenn das stimmt. Kann es irgendwie nicht mehr erwarten, die Dinger in Händen zu halten …
