MORRISSEY – Years of Refusal [Polydor]
Von Years of Refusal habe ich mich sehr schnell wieder getrennt. Der muskulöse, hemdsärmelige Rock von „Morrisseys Burschen“ (Arne Willander), die den Hörer mit schierer Kraft beeindrucken wollen, ist gar nichts für mich. Und drei gute Songs („Paris“, „You were good in your Time“, „I’m OK by myself“) sind einfach ein bißchen wenig für ein Album. Die „Paris“-Single ist allerdings wirklich gut – auch „Shame is the Name“ ist besser als die meisten Songs auf dem Album.
An die neue Howling Bells habe ich mich nach all den mäßigen bis schlechten Kritiken noch nicht herangetraut. Im April kommen jetzt erst mal Junior Boys, Bob Dylan, The Felice Brothers und Alasdair Roberts hinzu.
