Herr RossiEine Reaktion hat Dein Thread unbedingt verdient, Go1, diese Richtung ist hier im Forum nicht überrepräsentiert. Deine Besprechung weckt Vorfreude, ebenso die Hörproben. „So Haunted“ hab ich schon vor einige Zeit gehört und war durchaus angetan, auch wenn die „Indie“-Gitarren am Anfang etwas abschrecken. Der Song wird gegen Ende hin immer besser. Aber manchmal braucht man ja mehrere Hinweise, ehe man eine Spur aufnimmt.
Im ME haben sie dieses Album ziemlich hoch eingestuft in der Jahreswertung. Ich höre auch viel New Order heraus, aber aus meiner Perspektive als Electric Light Orchestra-Freak ist natürlich sehr interessant, dass die Australier auch viel von Jeff Lynne beeinflusst wurden. Zum Beispiel klingt das am Anfang von einem Cut Copy Song im Hintergrund von Autobahn Music Box verdächtig nach einem Sample von Telephone Line. Und der Refrain von So Haunted entstand nach intensivem Hören des ELO-Albums „Time“ und in bewusster Anlehnung an Jeff Lynne.

Also, sie haben viel „Time“ gehört, und beim Chorus ahmen sie bewusst Jeffs Gesangsstil nach.

Also, die mögen es, wenn Popmusik nicht immer der geradlinigen Struktur folgt, sondern, z. B., was Instrumente und Stimmführung betrifft, etwas ungewöhnlich/seltsam/abgedreht ist.
