Auch Neal Casal, der gemeinsam mit Dan Fadel (drums) und Jeff Hill (bass) das Trio Hazy Malaze bildet, ist ein Künstler, aus dessen Solo-Werken ich schon Stücke gespielt habe. Auf dem Cover ihres zweiten Albums „Blackout love“ liest man folgende, womöglich ein wenig hochtrabende Notiz:
“Evoking ‚Exile on Main Street‘ meeting the Stax Soul Revue, Neal Casal’s soul power trio unleashes a groovy and infectious blend of Blues, Soul and Rock’n Roll that will delight fans of Kings of Leon, Gov’t Mule and The Black Crowes.“ Keinesfalls völlig unzutreffend. Das Album macht mächtig Spaß.
