IrrlichtTragisch, bedrückend, verzweifelt, gefühlvoll, melodiös, magisch, anziehend, einnehmend, tief in endloser Melancholie wühlend.
Das sind auch meine Eindrücke.
Melancholie, was für mich ein (zumindest) teilweise positiv besetzter Begriff ist, assoziiere ich bei diesem Album jedoch nicht, vielmehr eine ausweglose, absolute Traurigkeit.
IrrlichtWer mit den Buckleys, Drakes, Oldhams, aber auch Dennys und Obersts dieser Welt etwas anfangen kann, sollte diesem Album mehr als nur ein Ohr schenken.
Ich möchte ergänzen um John Martyn, Eric Andersen und, ja, auch Townes Van Zandt.

Als ich diese Zeilen aus „Blues Run the Game“ erstmalig gehört habe, kam mir irgendwie sofort „Waiting Around to Die“ von Townes in den Sinn.
