Ich kann beim besten Willen nicht entdecken, welcher Part hier falsch verstanden werden kann. Morrissey erzählt ganz klar die Geschichte eines gewissen David, der desillusioniert ist und offensichtlich eine Außenseiterfigur darstellt. Ich würde sogar so weit gehen zu sagen, dass nicht einmal dieser David ein Rechter ist, sondern einfach aufgrund seiner miserablen Position in der Gesellschaft Anschluß sucht. Das ist ja auch hierzulande oftmals der Grund für viele Anschluß innerhalb rechter Gruppierungen zu suchen. Darauf, dass die persönliche Desillusionierung kein Grund für einen solchen Schritt ist, wird David in dem Song übrigens auch direkt angesprochen:
