Auf dem fünften Album der Band, das nach dem Durchbruch-Album „His’n’hers“ chartstechnisch noch mindestens einen draufsetzte, stammt dieser Song. Mit elegantem Pop, Anleihen beim Glamrock, stets sehr britisch und heimisch geworden irgendwo zwischen Bowie und Roxy Music gab die Band aus Sheffield dem Britpop einen entscheidenden Kick. Jarvis Cocker versucht den Wochenbeginn in seiner gefühlten Ausweglosigkeit in einen anderen Kontext zu stellen: „There’s nothing to do so you just stay in bed. Why live in the world when you can live in your head? And you can go out late from Monday till Saturday turns into Sunday and now you’re back here at Monday, so you can do it all over again.“ Und dann „I want a refund, I want a light.“
