Die Yardbirds sind sicherlich eine der einflußreichsten Bands im UK der 60-er Jahre, vor allem wenn man bedenkt, dass sie Gitarristen wie Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck und Jimmy Page in ihren Reihen hatte. Gegründet wurde die Band 1963 in Richmond, UK von Keith Relf (voc.), Paul Samwell-Smith (b.) und Chris Dreja (g). „Still I’m sad“ ist sicherlich einer ihrer prägnantesten Tracks aus der Jeff Beck-Phase.
