Die Original Master Tapes gibt es größtenteils noch… das Problem wo sind sie 
Die größte „Auf-Nimmer-Wiedersehen“ Aufbewahrungsstätte für Mastertapes (vieler Major Labels) ist Iron Mountain. Dort werden die Tapes katalogisiert und dann in den hintersten Winkel begraben. War es schon früher ein Chaos die Originalbänder zu finden – so ist es jetzt nahezu ein Ding der Unmöglichkeit die richtigen zu finden!!!

Remember when all of the Columbia Byrds and Simon & Garfunkel masters were misplaced there for 20 years?
Also the Creedence Clearwater Revival LP’s and SACD’s I did were produced with CRUCIAL help from Stuart, who could find a true master tape in a pile of confusing oxide fodder. Now, the tapes are being entered in a computer and shipped to a big storage facility where no one will be able to distinguish a master from a dub, stereo from a mono reel or anything else. Most of that crucial information is NOT MARKED ON THE REELS.
