GZA/Genius – Liquid Swords (Single 1995)
Das dazugehörige, gleichnamige Album taucht heute in jeder Top10-All-Time-Rap-Alben-Liste auf und dass nicht zum Spaß:
„I’m on a Mission, that niggaz say is Impossible
But when I swing my swords they all choppable
I be the body dropper, the heartbeat stopper
Child educator, plus head amputator”
(“Sword” ist hier übrigens eine Metapher für “tongue”, nicht dass da was falsches gedacht wird). Das Wu-Tang Gründungsmitglied rappt hier über eine RZA-Produktion, das Sample stammt von Willie Mitchell’s „Groovin“.
Manch einer kennt ihn vielleicht aus Coffee & Cigarettes („Bill Groundhog-Day, Ghostbustin‘-ass Murray!“), auf dem Bild links, der RZA in der Mitte und Murray.
