09. Ian Dury – Sweet Gene Vincent
Album: New boots and painties (1977)
Ian Dury, im März 2000 57-jährig in London verstorben kam Mitte der 70-er aus dem Londoner Pubrock-Milieu und mit seiner zweiten Band „The Blockheads“ um seinen kongenialen Partner Chaz Jankel ging es dann bergauf für den im Alter von sieben Jahren an Kinderlähmung erkrankten Musiker. Mit Witz und parodistischem Talent gelangen Dury einige Hits wie z.B. „Wake up and make love with me“. Sein Debutalbum „New boots and painties“ lege ich mir auch heute noch gerne auf.
