Volcanic TongueTotal fucking dreamteam duo exchange free jazz wipe-out from two of the most regularly killing instrumentalists ever to wrestle form from freedom. Don Dietrich is of course part of the saxophone front-line of Borbetomagus, while Hall is best known as the spectral percussionist w/Graveyards. But Hall can kick it as hard as any middle-European wildman and here he is on stunning form, rolling out a non-stop barrage of ideas and tonal tattoos. Dietrich, meanwhile, plays in a hysteric post-Doyle high-register style, just leering all over the kit while performing the kind of tongue contortions and epiglottal gymnastics of a Masayoshi Urabe or Kaoru Abe. This is balls-to-the-wall free jazz power in the tradition of Babi, Black Ark, Adieu Little Man, Church No.9 et al and if you’re in any way tuned into the energy = form equation of those towering sides then you need this. Totally exhilarating and very highly recommended!
go, get it!

Hey man, why don't we make a tune... just playin' the melody, not play the solos...
