Antony and the Johnsons ist einfach eine Band aus New York. Und zu seinen Songs, die sind hauptsächlich ziemlich melancholische Balladen die meist mit Klavier begleitet sind oder akustischen Gitarren oder/und diversen Streichinstrumenten.

Inwiefern thematisiert er „indirekt“? Viel direkter kann man doch kaum sagen, dass man lieber ein Mädchen wäre als ein Junge….

In „You Are My Sister“ singt er meiner Meinung nach nicht über seine Schwester, sondern sich selbst (seine versteckte weibliche Identität):

Das alles ist – vor allem in Kombination mit dieser Stimme – in der Tat sehr ergreifend, aber allenfalls ein bisschen indirekt…..
