emily haines legt nach, mit einer ep:
The EP takes its title from a poem by Emily’s father, the late Paul Haines, and it shares a release day with Secret Carnival Workers: The Paul Haines Reader, a compendium of the man’s writing spanning 1955-2002.
„It’s kind of like poems for people who don’t read poems,“ Emily explained. „He wouldn’t call it poetry; just kind of crystallized fragments and observations. He had a real love of language.“
Haines will celebrate the EP/book release with a special Soft Skeleton show at Toronto’s Harbourfront Centre on July 25. „It’s kind of like the final installment of my homage to my freaky, avant upbringing.“
For the moment, however, Haines will simply bask in her memories from this year’s Coachella festival: „It’s kind of obvious to say, but CSS was pretty rocking. And it was one of the most enjoyable side stage experiences I’ve ever had, because it was Paris Hilton, Peaches, and me. I felt like quite the Plain Jane, I don’t mind telling you. It was definitely Haines out of her element.“
