People love to compile music. People also love to compile compilations. Sometimes, a plain old release just isn’t good enough. Or maybe it went out of print. Or maybe it’s only available overseas. Whatever the case may be, if you or your band have been compiled, it means people like you and want to give you more money. And hey, what’s wrong with that? Belle & Sebastian have just announced the May 23 release of a compilation of 25 tracks from their numerous and sundry EPs and singles. The two-disc set, titled Push Barman to Open Old Wounds, will be released by Jeepster in the UK and Europe and by Matador on May 24 in the U.S. and Canada. Both sides of the Atlantic will be offered the set in deluxe CD and limited vinyl formats, and Matador will release a standard two-disc jewel case version in North America. On May 18, Toshiba-EMI will release the set in Japan in the standard jewel case format as well as the deluxe CD version with Japanese liner notes. Listen up:
