Blue Oyster Cult’s original lineup will reunite for part of the band’s show in Times Square, New York, tonight.
Remaining founding members Eric Bloom and Donald ‘Buck Dharma’ Roeser will be joined by Allen Lanier and brothers Albert and Joe Bouchard to perform a number of songs.
It’s the first time the five musicians have shared a stage since 1986. It’s part of celebrations marking BOC’s 40th anniversary, alongside the release of a comprehensive 17-disc box set.
The concert, at the Best Buy Theater, was originally scheduled to take place last week, but was postponed as a result of tropical storm Sandy. The band’s most recent lineup change was the departure of bassist Rudy Sarzo earlier this year.
