anyhow, we are posting some pictures from the hospital on the .com site today. johnny t took some movies on his digital camera and some reg. pics. it was gross. really horrible.
my hand is not attached to my body at the wrist anymore. i saw a specialist in the u.k. i may lose 20% mobility in my wrist and may suffer chronic arthritis for the rest of my life in my hand.
i am home in nyc and i go in for more x-rays tomorrow. they have to decide if they are going to wire it together with rods or not. its very sad and i am worried.
contrary to popular opinion i was having the greatest time on tour. i might seem maudlin at gigs but thats probably because im putting my feelings into the songs and theyre not really happy tunes the lot of them are they?
anyway i hate interviews and i am certainly dark when i have to do them because i just feel more exposed.the xfm thing was like it was because the dj refused to even meet anyone. he didnt even say hello and he called some people in our crew „wankers“ and something about we were “ fucking yanks“.
they were so fucking rude. we couldnt do a full band thing because they put the drums in another room and we couldnt see johnny at all or hear him and we were supposed to play electric guitars but they had no place for amps.
it was a mess.so i went out for a cigarette (i.e. stormed out) and talked to my tour manager and said, „well lets at least give them some new song like an exclusive song so as to not punish the fans.“
i played that song and they were acting like we did something wrong. they said „people way more famous than you come in here and do this all the time.“
and i was like „what?“ what does that have to do with anything.i had the best time in bristol and cambridge and liverpool was so great. that was a highlight show i thought but that orchestra pit was really dark and i was watching out but when i looked up singing shadowlands to the top rafters……i mean, fuck. my foot slipped and now i am seriously in trouble.
of course it would be the last chorus of the last song.i gave an exclusive interview to the NME the day before i left. we talked about what happened at the show/ about xfm/ and my really fucked up weirdo hair color. youll see it soon. also you can see the photos on-line today. theres even a movie in there i think.
i miss it already and my guitars are looking at me funny. im sorry this happened and thank you nice people for all the kind words.
