A HARD DAY’S NIGHT!
Heute vor 25 Jahren wurde John Lennon erschossen, whoah, kann mich noch gut erinnern, war echt geschockt!!
Auch Brucie hat zu diesem Tag eine besondere Verbindung, weil er für diesen Abend und den nächsten 2 Konzerte in Philadelphia hatte.
Am 8.12. wurde Lennon genau in dem Moment in NY erschossen, als Bruce in Phily „Jungleland“ spielte…die Band hat es aber erst nach ihrem Auftritt erfahren, am nächsten Abend kam Bruce auf die Bühne und sagte vor dem ersten Song:
„It’s a hard night to come out and play when so much has been lost. The first record that I ever learned was a record called ‚Twist and Shout,‘ and if it wasn’t for John Lennon, we’d all be in some place very different tonight. It’s an unreasonable world, and you have to live with a lot of things that are just unliveable. It’s a hard thing to come out and play… but there’s just nothing else you can do.“
