es gibt mal wieder ein paar news:
The Kinks To Reform?
Hot on the heels of The Police, Van Halen, Rage Against The Machine and Led Zeppelin reunions, rock veterans The Kinks are the lastest band set to reunite for one last hurrah.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, singer-guitarist Ray Davies has dropped hints as heavy as lead that the band’s original line-up is set to tour in 2008.
Whether the band could handle the physical strain of touring remains a moot point. Davies‘ younger brother Dave suffered a stroke in 2004 and bassist Pete Quaife has kidney problems. However, according to Davies Major, Quaife is keen to make one more album featuring the classic line-up:
„I spoke to Quaife about a month ago and he dearly wants to make another record with me.
„I think Dave’s getting better and [drummer] Mick [Avory] is still playing. It would be great to get back together just to see what musical ideas we had and what would happen.“
Any reunion tour is likely to coincide with the release of The Kinks‘ box set, the aptly-titled ‚Retrosopective‘.
