Ach was … dazu müsstest Du den Besuch von Live-Konzerten auch berücksichtigen. Tust Du das, treffen Deine Thesen auf mich wenigstens gar nicht zu. Aber in der guten Stube läuft oft anderes als im Konzert. Das wurde mir nach einigen Jahren, in denen viel mehr Avantgarde lief (ich hätten noch Gianni Gebbias „Arcana Major“ zur Nachnominierung zu bieten, Top 50!) klar: ich mag sowas lieber live, ab Konserve bevorzuge ich andere Dinge.
Und ganz ehrlich: ich finde jemanden, der sich heute noch für Jimmie Lunceford erwärmen kann, wesentlich hipper als jemanden, der „den alten Scheiss“ in Bausch und Bogen ablehnt. Ich bin Historiker, ich will wissen, woher die Dinge kommen, ihnen auf den Grund gehen – dabei macht man manchmal die schönsten Entdeckungen, die den Jetzt-Zeit-Menschen halt verborgen bleiben. Wie sich das alles mit Konservativismus kurzschliessen lässt, ist eine andere Frage, allzu einfache Schlüsse würde ich da mal nicht ziehen.
