„In some ways the album seems like the start of a new phase for the gruff voiced artist. Where 1999´s „Mule Variation“ and the simultaneous 2002 releases of theater-based albums „Alice“ and „Blood Money“ seem almost a career summary, „Real Gone“, the 20th album of new material more than 30 years of recording, takes some new tacks… The record alternates between cacophonous, jubilant numbers and mournful, haunting and spare ballads.“ (Los Angeles Times ) Ich bin gespannt. B)

As reported earlier, Tom Waits is contributing the song „Day After Tomorrow“ to „Future Soundtrack of America“, an album sponsores by MoveOn.org, an organisation providing financial support to “ congressional candidates who embrace moderate to progressive principles of national goverment.“

Gerüchte? Tom Waits produziert das nächste Album der Pixies.
