Kann leider nicht helfen, habe zu beiden nur Kapitel in Büchern und massenhaft Liner Notes (auch ausführlichere in Box-Sets) gelesen. Derek Jewells Ellington-Buch wird anderswo empfohlen (von Allen Lowe, dem ich da mal trauen würde), gibt es aber soweit ich sehe nur englisch:
