Mir scheint, der Boss unterscheidet eher grobschlächtig

Springsteen RS-Interview 1984 zur Entstehung von Nebraska:

“Well, initially, I was just doing songs for the next rock album, …… Actually, half of the Born in the U.S.A. album was recorded at the time of Nebraska. … So if you look at the material, particularly on the first side, it’s actually written very much like Nebraska – the characters and the stories, the style of writing – except it’s just in the rock band setting.”

Wie an anderer Stelle häufig und passend formuliert, war Mission des Nebraska-Nachfolgers: „bring the message to the largest possible audience“ – was es ja allein auch noch nicht poppiger macht als andere Rock Alben, die auf Airplay gesoundet werden.
