Nach meinen Hör-Sessions mit all den ECM-Piano-Trios und Bill Evans in sämtlichen Phasen wirkt diese tolle Neuentdeckung allerdings wie aus einer anderen Welt – zeitlich und stilistisch:
KENNY DREW TRIO – Kenny Drew Trio (Riverside, 1956)
Klassischer Hard Bop vom Feinsten, mit Paul Chambers und Philly Joe Jones – pure Energie, die meilenweit vom introspektiven ECM-Sound entfernt ist.
Und genau das Trio will für mich bisher nicht funktionieren. Ich nehme nochmal einen Anlauf die nächsten Tage, aber bezweifle, dass das dieses Mal was wird. Vielleicht in ein paar Jahren, wer weiss.
