Kenny Burrell – God Bless the Child | Immer noch 1971 … da lief CTI so richtig heiss und haute unter anderem dieses grossartige Album heraus, für meine Ohren eins grosses Highlight im Katalog (so weit ich den halt kenne) … und am Ende vielleicht noch vor „Midnight Blue“ oder dem bald auf zwei CDs erweitert neu aufgelegt werdenden „At the Five Spot Café“ (immerhin mit Tina Brooks) mein liebstes Burrell-Album überhaupt. Eine grosse Entdeckung für mich, als ich ohne richtige Erwartungen (halt einfach, weil ich Burrell sehr gerne mag) die abgebildete Papphüllen-Ausgabe von 2010 (mit drei Bonustracks) kaufte. Einer der Bonustracks ist die Solo-Miniatur „Ballad of the Sad Young Men“:
