Das bis dahin und bis zum neuesten Werk „Foxes in the snow“ mit Abstand persönlichste Werk von Isbell. Und in Sachen Songwriting hat er hier seine Meisterschaft erreicht. So viele ergreifende Song auf einem Album waren selten.

„Yvette“ als schwächster Track auf dem Album? Come on! Dieser Track über den Mißbrauch einer Tochter durch den Vater muss einen doch packen.

Ja, den Text fand ich auch gt, soweit ich hingehört habe, aber musikalisch hat mich der Track nicht ausreichend gepackt. Elephant war da anders, der nimmt einen gleich beim ersten Hören gefangen.
