In Japan erscheint Anfang Mai eine neue CD-Ausgabe der „Sun Bear Concerts“ von Keith Jarrett – gleiches Master wie bei der japanischen SACD-Ausgabe von 2017 (und 2022, wie der Discogs-Eintrag suggeriert). Kennt jemand eine Ausgabe mit dem Mastering und kann was zum Klang sagen? Die deutsche CD-Ausgabe hat ja einen schlechten Ruf (auch hier im Forum, wenn ich mich richtig erinnere?), ein Mix von 1989, der auch bei der 2015er Nachpressung wieder zum Einsatz kam.
To celebrate the 80th birthday of the genius pianist Keith Jarrett, his monumental six-disc album „Sun Bear Concerts,“ recorded in Japan, is now available for the first time in SHM-SACD format. Features: First SHM-SACD Release / Newly Written Liner Notes / Uses the 2017 DSD Master by ECM Records (Germany). Originally released as a ten-LP box set in 1976, this collection features solo piano concerts performed during Jarrett’s Japan tour, accompanied by producer Manfred Eicher. Among the eight concerts, five performances from Kyoto (Kyoto Kaikan Hall), Osaka (Sankei Hall), Nagoya (Aichi Prefectural Arts Theater), Tokyo (Nakano Sun Plaza), and Sapporo (Welfare Pension Hall) are each included on a single disc, while the sixth disc compiles encore performances from Sapporo, Tokyo, and Nagoya.
