Und wie hört sich das an? Die alten Duo Aufnahmen von Ellington kenne ich nicht oder kaum, die mit Jimmy Blanton überhaupt nicht. Aber der früh verstorbene Blanton muss einen bleibenden Eindruck bei Ellington hinterlassen haben. Jahrzehnte später nahm er ein Duo-Album mit Ray Brown am Bass auf, das mir sehr gut gefällt und das ich im Ellington-Faden erähnte.
