Zur Nacht gestern noch Ron Miles‘ Debut „Witness“ – ein sehr schönes Album, das vielleicht in etwas zu viele Richtungen geht (Freies, Pastorales, Marching Drums, Monk, Mingus, Strayhorn), aber schon eine sehr eigene Stimme verrät. Zwei Veteranen sind in der Band zu hören und v.a. beim ersten ist das hochinteressant: Art Lande (p) und Bruno Carr (d). Dazu kommen Fred Hess (ts, fl) und Ken Walker (b). Ein äusserst lohnender Discogs-Beifang.
