03. Toots & The Maytals – Sweet & Dandy (1969/1972)
“Sweet and Dandy” is a lighthearted ska song about the stress of a young couple, Etty and Johnson, before their wedding. The song was famously featured in the soundtrack for the 1972 film The Harder They Come, starring another Jamaican music icon, Jimmy Cliff. Toots and The Maytals appear in the film, miming a recording session for “Sweet and Dandy.”
