Früh, aber nicht sehr früh. Ich bin seit ’95 im Internet (such as there was) und die Identitätsfrage stellte sich damals schon (siehe zB Bücher von Sherry Turkle), wenn auch nicht mit der Dringlichkeit. Das hatte etwas Spielerisches an sich, aber heutzutage, wo Identität im virtuellen Raum oft auch Krücke ist, ist das natürlich alles viel dringlicher und verbissener.
