Bei dem dicken Batzen Vintage-Vinyl, das ich vor einigen Wochen ergattert habe, war auch das hier dabei:
The Commodore Years – The Tenor Sax: Coleman Hawkins & Frank Wess (Aufnahmen 1940/43 bzw. 1954, Compi 1973)
Hawkins hier mit u.a. Benny Carter und Roy Eldridge, Cootie Williams und Art Tatum. Frank Wess kannte ich bislang noch gar nicht. Der hat wohl einige alte Basie-aner mit im Team.
Uralt, aber taufrisch.
Auf die Young, Berry & Webster-Compi bin ich scharf!
