Manchmal dauert’s eben länger … hab die CD heute gekriegt, immerhin noch bevor 20 Jahre seit der Veröffentlichung (Reissue von 2004, als die „LPR Series“ von Verve in Digipacks gemorpht war) verstrichen sind. Die klassischen Moody Band mit Johnny Coles, Tom McIntosh, Musa Kaleem, Gene Kee, John Latham und Clarence Johnson. Alle kriegen ihre Spots, aber klar, das ist Moodys Show, und wie üblich klingt die Band mit sieben Leuten (vier Bläser, Kaleem nur am Bari, Moody an Flöte, Alt und Tenor) manchmal wie eine Big Band. Old School halt, und gut.
