Wie ist die???
Offenbar sehr viel besser als die s/t. Unglaublich. ;) Ich mag’s aber auch. Es kommt nur immer wieder etwas dazwischen, sodass ich es noch nicht so oft gehört habe.
Höre gerade mal wieder The View from Rowland’s Head von The Family Dogg auf Repeat. Keine Ahnung, wie das passieren konnte. :) So viel positive Energie und trotzdem genug zum Nachdenken! So vernachlässigt, das Album. Na gut, es ist seltsam. Ziemlich seltsam.
Hat nicht ganz unrecht, der AMG-Rezensent: The obvious highlight of the LP is also its least typical cut (inasmuch as anything here could be said to be atypical of such a hard-to-figure-out album), „Sympathy,“ a big 1970 Dutch hit. Actually a cover of a song by the British progressive rock band Rare Bird, it’s a mournful tune with a funereal beat, glowing organ, creepy ensemble choral vocals, and positively monstrous blasts of fuzz bass. It’s better experienced on a various-artists compilation (though it’s hard to say exactly what thematic compilation would be a logical place for it) :)
Komme seit einigen Jahren immer wieder zurück zu diesem Album und mag es immer lieber (im Ganzen!) – falls das möglich ist. Dabei höre ich Compilations sehr selten.
