Grace Jones wurde heute vor 75 (Fünfundsiebzig!) Jahren auf Jamaika geboren.
Ihre Kindheit war offenbar durch ein sehr religiöses und repressives Elternhaus geprägt. Da gab es für sie wohl nur eine mögliche Richtung: Raus! La Vie En Rose vom Album Portfolio von 1977 (in der LP-Version gut 7 Minuten lang) ist nicht nur eine ihrer unwahrscheinlichen und großartigen Coverversionen, es zeigt auch, dass Disco nicht unbedingt ein Stil ist, sondern ein Gefühl:
