Frank Rosolino – I Play Trombone | Bin grad mal abgeschweift … endlich in einer ordentlichen Ausgabe hier (eine alte Japan-CD von 1991) und natürlich eine Freude. Sonny Clark (p), Wilfred Middelbrooks (b) und Stan Levey (d) sind dabei.
Was Jamal angeht, die Alhambra- und Blackhawk-Sessions kenne ich halt weniger gut, die aus dem Spotlight (in den erwähnten Auszügen, so 1 3/4 der drei LPs, aber das ganze erste Album dabei) waren für mich total prägend. Beim Wiederhören gerade fand ich die Alhambra-Aufnahmen allerdings wirklich phantastisch!
