Mose Allison – Transfiguration of Hiram Brown | Vom 3-CD-Set unten, das auch die zwei weiteren Columbia-Alben von Allison enthält. Addison Farmer (b) und Jerry Segal (d) sind dabei, und im Booklet gibt es ein neues Zitat von Allison zum Reissue (auf April 1994 datiert):
For years after this record was made, I told everyone that it was my best recorded instrumental performance and I may have been right. Jerry Segal and Addison Farmer were two of the best, each with his own distinctive approach. One thing I always ask of a jazz performance is „does it move or does it meander“ and I think that these tracks move pretty well. There were those who dismissed the „Suite“ as „program music“ (impure, you know) but I believe that there is some real jazz and some honest expression therein. „Make Yourself Comfortable“ is a good example of the ironic approach to a ballad that I often employed. I am very please by TRANSFIGURATION’s reincarnation.
