Wie dem auch sei, ich war gestern beim Konzert in der Mercedes-Benz Arena und fand die neuen Songs bestenfalls okay. Musikalisch ist das halt alles eher im sicheren Fahrwasser, hätte auch gut auf „Bloodflowers“ gepasst. Erschreckend hingegen wie einfallslos die Texte sind, als hätte jemand den Robert Smith Lyrics-Generator angeworfen.
War ein feiner erster Zugabenblock gestern in Berlin mit Plainsong,Disintegration,The Figurehead,Primary und A Forest.
Was das kommende (wenn es denn irgendwann kommt…) Album betrifft: Ich erwarte da gar nicht etwas in der Größenordnung von Faith,Pornography oder Disintegration aber nach so vielen Jahren schon was besseres als 4:13 Dream (für mich das schwächste Cure-Album) oder das S/T von 2004. Die neuen Songs gefallen mir da schon besser als 90% von den beiden letztgenannten Werken. Und was die Lyrics betrifft: Ist halt typische Robert Smith-Marnier. Da sollte man nichts revolutionär neues erwarten:
