Uri Caine Trio – Blue Wail (1999)
Ein Piano-Trio-Album mit James Genus (b) und Ralph Peterson (dr). Ich hatte mal eine Phase, in der ich mich für Piano-Trios interessierte, die dann aber wieder abebbte. Ich habe das Album nach einer Aufräumaktion dann mal abgestoßen. Ob das eine gute Entscheidung war?
Aus den 00ern hatte ich von UC auch mal Bedrock3, ein – ich sachmal – Elektro-Jazz-Fusion-Album. Auch das habe ich mal abgestoßen. Hmmm?
Wenn etwas typisch für Uri Caine ist, dann wohl, dass er thematisch und /oder stilistisch total unterschiedliche Alben macht. Jazz, Klassik-Adaptionen, Elektronisches, und jüdische Traditionen spielen auch immer mal wieder mit rein.
