Steve Grossman Quintet featuring Harold Land – I’m Confessin‘ | Diese Aufnahme von 1992 liess bis 2007 auf sich warten – und ich verstehe nicht, weshalb. In der Band ist mit Jimmy Cobb wieder ein prominenter Veteran am Schlagzeug zu hören, dazu Reggie Johnson (b) und Fred Henke (p). Los geht es mit Davis‘ „Veird Blues“, hintenraus gibt es dann Mel Tormé („Born to Be Blue“), zweimal Monk („Let’s Cool One“ und „San Francisco Holiday“), dazwischen neben dem Titelstück „Circus“ (Louis Alter/Sidney Keith Russell) und das Original „Sandrow“. Ich hab das erst spät nachgeholt, aber die Anschaffung nicht bereut.
